Lettuce Wraps

Lettuce wraps are the perfect alternative for traditional wraps and sandwiches. Be sure to try this amazing recipe below. Serves 4.


  • Vegetable spray or 1 T. olive oil
  • 8 oz. ground lean turkey or chicken tenders
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/2 small bell pepper, minced
  • 1/4 c. peanuts, chopped
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion (optional)
  • 2-4 T. teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 T. lemon or lime juice
  • 4 large lettuce leaves


Lightly coat a large skillet with vegetable spray or 1 tablespoon olive oil. Saute meat, garlic, carrots, celery, peppers, peanuts and onion as desired over medium heat for 4 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Add teriyaki sauce, ginger and juice, stirring to blend. Continue to saute for 3-5 minutes until heated thoroughly. Pile 3-4 tablespoons of filling in center of crisp lettuce leaves. Add your choice of toppings. Two or three of these make a quick meal or you can use them as an appetizer. Makes 4 wraps.

Tip: The outer layers with iceberg lettuce work best.
