- [Tonya] The Your Fight Fund is a fund that is
available to help cancer patients

and only cancer patients that have a need.

It was started back in 2012.

We decided that we wanted patients to know,
or anyone in the community to know that

found out about the fund,
that their fight was our fight.

- [Elevi] There are a few ways we can figure out if a
patient does need assistance.

We do have a distress form,
and that will actually list out different categories

in what they may need.

- [Dotty] I had to have three aggressive chemo
treatments, then 35 aggressive radiation treatments,

and then three more chemo treatments.

I live in Hickman, Kentucky, which is...to come here,
it's an hour and fifteen minutes.

- A lot of patients may not think they qualify for
assistance, but after meeting with them,

we can find something to help them,
whether it be through the hospital here or

another local resource.

- Elevi contacted me,
and she talked to me about getting assistance for gas,

because I was coming every day.

And it doesn't take long to put miles on your car.

It doesn't take long to use your money up that you
thought you had a little bit of kind of saved,

so that was a great help.

I'm very blessed and very thankful because there's a
lot of [inaudible] that need it.

Elevi Balzer, Oncology Social Worker:
There are a few ways we can figure out if a patient does need assistance. We have a distress form that will actually list out different categories and what they may need.

Dotty Harrison, Hickman, Kentucky:
I had to have three aggressive chemo treatments, 35 aggressive radiation treatments, and then three more chemo treatments. I live in Hickman, Kentucky, which to come here is an hour and 15 minutes.
