Home health care is intermittent professional healthcare provided to a patient in their home. Working under the physician’s ordered plan of care, Baptist Health Home Care’s team of professionals educates patients about their illness or recovery from surgery, teaches the patient how to best manage their condition, secures needed medical equipment and supplies, and coordinates care with the physician, family, caregivers and community resources.
Families are taught how to physically care for the patient and how to cope with the challenges that result from the patient’s condition.
Baptist Health Home Care’s experienced staff provides nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, social work, and home health aide services providing a way for patients to receive the intermittent skilled care they need in the comfort and safety of their own home.
Home healthcare may be covered by Medicare or Medicaid if the patient meets the qualifications for these programs. Private insurance, private pay, and worker’s compensation are other sources of coverage for home healthcare services.
